Frequently Asked Questions
- What is .TEL?
.TEL is a new place on the internet. It's not a website but a domain where you can
maintain all of your contact information in one spot.

- Why myTel.me?
myTel.me is a unique place on the Dot.Tel frontier that gives your TEL domain a personality.
It was created to give the millions of you with the same name,
the chance to get a personal dotTEL domain with your exact name.
You see, as powerful as dotTEL is, it only has one spot for people and companies with the same exact spelling of their name.
Consequently, there can only be one premium and personal dotTel domain for your name.
If the premium name has already been taken, you can't get it.
Like scalpers, some domain owners (cybersquatters) are willing to part with 'your' name for thousands of dollars.
This limitation allows us to offer you a personal domain with your moniker on it for almost nothing.
myTel.me gives you the ability to have your very own personal Tel domain with your exact name.
Through our 150+ properties, there are over 15,000 combinations where you can be unique.
So chances are, you can find your TEL home here with us.

Store all of your information that will connect you to your friends.
Your social network locations, your phone number, your email address, your website(s).
You can also add keywords so that people that don't yet have your dotTEL address
can find you by searching for keywords and topics related to you.
Show information about your resume, your job, your skills.
You can even show your position on a Google map.
- What will my personal domain be called?
The first part of the personal domain will be your full or partial name, or whatever nickname you'd like to put their - it's completely your choice.
At the tail end will be one of our vanity TEL domain names.
Together, they might look something like:
Sophia.from.kewl.tel
Alexander.kewl.tel Be as creative as you like.
- How will my personal domain appear on the web?
dotTEL mandates a strict look and feel. They display your information in a standard format.
Here are some examples. Click for details. You have lots of room for all sorts of information, including work and hobbies.
- Should I include my company in my personal domain name?
We recommend not to, because you might change jobs, and then you will have
to change your domain name. It is much better just to have a personal domain name that won't change, keeping work separate.
Instead just add your current company to your record.
- Can I have uppercase letters in my domain name?
Yes you can. Sally.isCOOL.tel is the same as sally.isCool.tel and sally.iscool.tel.
- Are there any limitations?
The telNIC organization has limited each TEL domain we own to about 1,000 personal domains. Therefore, in order to secure the best name, register early.
- Are there any special features with a personal domain?
Yes, one feature is the ability for friends of yours to leave you messages in
a private area only you get to see. Give each friend a secret code that they use
with the "Leave a Message" link. Play a game via the Game link. Reveal your cloud.
Upload custom data.
- Can I get a personal domain as a gift for someone else?
Sure. After purchasing, just get your friend or loved one to change their credentials.
- How much does it cost?
A personal domain costs either between $5 or $20 (US) per year. This is less than what most registrars charge for a TEL domain.
There are even a number of no-cost personal domains available.
- How can I get a free personal domain?
It is our pleasure to give veterans their own personal TEL domain.
Start at your-veteran.tel.
There is a limit on the number of veterans we can list.
You can also grab a limited number of first-come, first-served free personal domains.
A free personal domain has a minimum amount of information to store and contains a random advertisement link.
Do You OWN a .Tel Domain?
If you own a premium or vanity domain name maybe you would like to lease to us?
We are interested in domain names that will appeal to a wide generation of users and industry verticals.
